Moseley used their home facilities very well and with several new faces on display, a solid set piece in midfield saw fast passing to the right and young winger Evans finished well in the corner. Superstar scrum half Dan Pons proved he is human after all, missing the conversion, and Spartans began the fightback. Playing some good rugby in most areas of the pitch, Moseley were tested to the full and their desperate but solid defence saw coaches son White sent to the sin bin just before half time for repeated offences. Unfortunately, the half time whistle stopped Spartans' momentum with the score at just 5 - 0.

From the kick off Moseley rallied and scored through impressive prop forward Toth after a series of forward drives, then minutes later added a second after a pass out of the tackle. The Men In Black continued to work hard and were by no means out of the game, but Moseley were well organised in defence, always managing to make the final tackle. A fascinating duel between wingers Garbett for Spartans and Evans for Moseley saw both youngsters learn a lot, but outstanding players in key positions began to favour Moseley as Pons dictated play. A cruel ricochet off a player landed nicely for the home side to snatch another try and as Spartans continued to attack from any possession they had, a pacy counter-attack from a mistake allowed Moseley their final score. Spartans kept on trying and had the last word when captain Bennett sneaked over from close range and Hardy converted to maintain Spartans record of having scored in every game.
