It was the home side who started brightest with Michael Blair finishing a well executed backs move, Tom Hardy added the extra two points. Keeping the away side firmly on the back foot Spartans finished off another try though their back line, this time finished by young Matthew Perry. Dunlop used their heavy forwards well and started to exert some pressure on the home side with some close play around the fringes, Spartans defended whole heartedly but the Dunlop pack eventually found themselves in the Spartans 5metre and came away with a score. Not to be outdone the home side hit back with a score from full back Alex Garbett.
The second half began with Dunlop showing that they were not about to lie down, using their forwards well they inched down the slope keeping the coppice lane crowd on their toes by coming away with score. Again Spartans hit back with a second try for centre Michael Blair which also secured the bonus point. Michael Foulds soon added another to put the forwards on the score sheet. Although the win was in sight Spartans were made to work hard as Dunlop stuck to their game plan and inched their way back down the slope with some well drilled tight play, with Spartans defence being stretched Dunlop found a gap to finish for a third time. Both sides worked hard in a physical encounter and should be congratulated for their efforts.
