Spartans travelled to Old Leamingtonians in the hope they could take their league form into the cup environment.
The first half saw Spartans start with great intention as they found themselves up by two tries courtesy of some great attacking play through the backs. Old Leams stuck to their game plan and managed to score a well worked try of their own to leave the game up for grabs at the half time break.
The second half saw Spartans enforce their dominance in the set piece but it was the pace out wide that really payed dividends. The Spartans back line ran in a brace of well executed tries via Alex Garbett, Matt Southam and Matt Perry. This was a great game of rugby for the neutral spectator with some free flowing attacking rugby from both clubs.
This week Spartans host a strong Malvern side. All support will be gladly received.
