Spartans travelled to Bedworth to face a strong experienced side looking to get their first win of the campaign.
The first half saw the home side start strongly and the Spartan defence were under the cosh. Bedworth scored first and it seemed the visitors were still on the m6. A delightful kick through from Joe Knibbs at scrum half saw winger Matt Southam race down the touch line to get Spartans first try. It remained pretty close until just before half time when Michael Foulds scored through the forwards to give the visitors the lead going into the break.
The second half saw the visitors come to life and finally they put some phases together and managed to keep some possession, this lead to a series of scores from the likes of Matt Perry, Dan Offen, Michael Foulds and Matt Southam both gaining a second try each and Tom Hardy who also added a penalty and 6 conversions in total to make the final score Bedworth 5, Spartans 50. This was by no means an easy outing but persistence paid dividends and Spartans managed to continue their good start to the season.
This week Spartans travel to Old Leamingtonians where they will attempt to take their league form into the Cup environment.
