Not our week

Spartans 3's travelled down the 446 to Old Salts....
Their 1's and 2's had a "beer bus" away day to Bridgnorth for a top of the table clash in their league but left a few of their players at home locked in the bogs to ambush an unsuspecting Spartans side...

It started with Frazzle propping for them, our usual "in form" fly half started with a misplaced kick straight down Frazzles throat which he ran forward and offloaded with perfection before taking the contact.... This actually happened three times on the trot...

We didn't turn up on the day and they did wanting a win and those couple of lads who were locked in the bogs caused a few problems but some of ours were caused by a lack of discipline and constantly "chirping" at the ref, this resulted in a 20 or 30m march back... This left us 5 metres from our line then within 20 seconds we were under our posts conceding 7 points....

We did get a try back at the end of the first half after a 70m run from Dan Reeves who just ran out of gas 2 m from the line and was brought down... The ball was recycled and our "out of form" fly half Ant Hodgetts made sure he kept his scoring run going...

We only conceded one more try in the second half as Old Salts didn't like running up the hill and we did make more of an effort at times....

We brought a novice into the second row for a couple of scrubs as we'd run out of other options and it made for a difficult final ten minutes which we threatened their line a few times but didn't breach...

The showers were hot, the burger and chips and a pint after were little consolation, maybe next week.....
