Teamwork, Tries, and a Well-Earned McDonalds Treat!

What an end to a fantastic weekend of rugby. Fresh off the red roses stunning victory over Canada, a combined Under 7 and Under 8 Spartans team, took to the field full of excitement and energy, ready to test themselves against Veseyans, Birmingham Exiles, and of course, the welcoming hosts Erdington RFC.

Festivals are all about giving the players as much rugby as possible and letting them enjoy the game, and today was no exception – there were tries, tags, teamwork, and above all, smiles from start to finish.

A big thank you goes to Erdington RFC for being such wonderful hosts and to all the clubs who joined us – the games were played in a brilliant spirit, and the Spartans players learned so much from the experience.

⚔️ Spartans in Action
Every single Spartan gave their absolute best across the festival matches:

Imogen showed great determination in defence, chasing down every runner and never giving up on a tag.

Harry grew in confidence with each game, making some strong runs and supporting his teammates brilliantly.

Millie was fearless with ball in hand, darting through gaps and keeping the defence guessing.

Abel impressed with his quick thinking and even quicker feet, spotting space and moving the ball to create try-scoring chances.

Toby ran hard all day long and showed real grit in defence, putting in some excellent tags.

Jacob played with great awareness, linking up beautifully with his teammates and always looking for the offload.

Theo capped the day off with some storming runs down the touchline, showing pace and power that lifted the whole team.

Erin brought fantastic energy to the squad, making strong runs, sticking to her defensive work, and always encouraging those around her.

The Spartans spirit shone brightly today – teamwork, effort, and encouragement were on display in every match. These young players continue to grow in confidence and skill, and most importantly, they’re enjoying their rugby together.

After all their hard work on the pitch, the team rounded off the day in style with a well-deserved celebratory McDonalds lunch – the perfect reward for a morning full of effort and fun!

A heartfelt thank you to the parents and supporters who once again created such a positive atmosphere on the touchline – the encouragement makes a huge difference to the players.

Well done Spartans U7/8s – another brilliant day, and we can’t wait for the next challenge!
