Spartans U7s completed this year’s fixture calendar in style, with a fantastic display of rugby at the Sutton Coldfield RFC festival. Combining everything that we’ve been working on this year, the players showed organisation & energy in defence (most of the time!), sweeping attacks with good support play, and excellent teamwork throughout.

Ethan gave a brilliant all round display, making positive contributions in attack with determined runs forward & well-timed passes, and in defence with some crucial tags.

Harry H worked non-stop in defence, with his determination and fast pressing keeping the opposition on the back foot. His strong running with ball in hand also added energy to the Spartans attack.

Harry P impressed with his enthusiasm to get involved in all areas of the game, contributing to the team’s performance with a number of tags and tries in the corners that any winger would be pleased with.

Henry played with confidence, carrying the ball forwards with purpose to consistently gain ground, while remaining focussed & disciplined in a superb defensive display.

Imogen impressed in attack, with some good decision-making and using her pace to stretch the opposition & drive the team forwards. A number of well executed tags rounded of a solid performance.

Poppy was always in the right place in attack, demonstrating phenomenal support play which earned her some fantastic tries. Her awareness and pressing in defence also stood out throughout.

A big thank you to Sutton Coldfield RFC for organising the festival & providing a thoroughly enjoyable environment, to all the teams that we played for some great games of mini rugby, and to everyone that came along to show their support to our young Spartans!
