Spartans U8s travelled to face Old Saltleians for another excellent morning of rugby, bringing a squad full of energy, teamwork and determination. The players supported each other brilliantly throughout the matches and showed growing confidence with the ball, creating plenty of exciting moments in both attack and defence.

Theo led the team superbly, encouraging his teammates throughout and setting the standard with a composed and hardworking performance.

Jacob continually made holes in the defence with powerful, direct running, repeatedly opening up space for supporting runners to exploit.

George produced some excellent offloads under pressure, keeping the ball alive and helping the team maintain attacking momentum. He continues to improve with every match.

Toby once again showed his great awareness of the game, positioning himself well and linking play effectively whenever opportunities appeared.

Ethan worked tirelessly across the pitch, contributing strongly in both attack and defence with his determined running and tagging.

Finlay showed great effort and commitment, making important tags and carrying the ball confidently when the team needed to move forward. Rounding off a fine performance with some very well taken tries

Ben P was relentless with his constant strong running forward, repeatedly gaining ground and putting the opposition defence under pressure.

Dylan brought great energy to the games, getting involved in all areas and showing real determination every time he carried the ball.

Eddie made several important defensive contributions with well-timed tags and supported the attack well whenever the team broke forward. Some spectators suspected there were more than one Eddie on the pitch as he was absolutely everywhere.

Ben W made a fantastic Spartans and rugby debut, showing frightening pace, some excellent tagging in defence, and capping his performance with a couple of tries that demonstrated a natural finisher’s instinct.

A big thank you to Old Saltleians for their warm welcome and for hosting such a well-organised and enjoyable morning of rugby. The games were played in great spirit throughout, and it was fantastic to see so many young players enjoying the sport in a positive and supportive environment.

It was another encouraging performance from the Spartans U8s, with every player contributing to a fun, competitive morning of rugby and continuing the team’s impressive progress this season.

Also fantastic to see our Spartans Millie, Erin, Emily, Sophia and Hattie have such an amazing time at our International Women's Day coaching session with special guest Lark Atkin-Davies. A perfect morning of rugby that once again indicated that the future is bright at Coppice Lane.
