Kidderminster 33, Spartans 3
Spartans Punished Following Lacklustre Display.
Spartans’ promotion campaign took a hit at the weekend when they were put to the sword by a team, in the shape of Kidderminster Carolians, who simply wanted the victory more and took it with an impressive score line of 33-3.
It was clear that something was not right from the off and it was going to be a tough day at the office for the away side. Attempts were made through the warm up to awaken the Spartans spirit but to no avail and the pre-match concerns swiftly came to fruition from the kick off.
Spartans, as a team, were simply not at the races. On the flip side, the Carolians grew in confidence as the game progressed and capitalised on sloppy play and missed tackles to score a number of trys putting the game to bed early in the second half.
Spartans managed a single score from the boot of Hardy but didn’t threaten to score from there on in. Kidderminster will likely agree that the score didn’t accurately reflect the game as a whole but you will be hard pushed to find a Spartans player who would argue the case that Kidderminster didn’t deserve the victory.
Spartans have to lick their wounds quickly though and fix the wrongs through the week as they welcome unbeaten league leaders Whitchurch to Coppice Lane this weekend.
